In this shop, the audience is invited to explore its collection, where each object has a tale to tell, and one clever audience member may unlock a hidden mystery by participating in a game woven into the experience.
The Shop for Mortals and Fools beckons those bold enough to navigate the blurred lines between myth and reality, desire and revenge, and the mortal and the divine.
Conceived by multidisciplinary artist Vinicius Salles, The Shop for Mortals and Fools is a site-responsive and immersive physical theatre experience. Inspired by Euripides' The Bacchae, this production reimagines one of the greatest tragedies ever written, weaving an original narrative that explores power, revenge, and the fragility of the human spirit. Salles’ vision invites audiences to delve into a narrative as captivating as it is deeply human, where ancient myths collide with contemporary themes.

This story explores how we navigate life's uncertainties through the journey of a little paper boat adrift on uncharted seas. As it embarks on a fantastical adventure, the boat discovers resilience amidst the challenges of a world increasingly shaped by environmental change. Infused with insightful humour, the performance blends physical theatre, quirky characterizations, evocative text, and dance to bring this tale to life. Audiences are invited on a poetic journey that challenges perceptions and reflects on how children grow up in a world marked by the unpredictable impacts of climate change.
